Tastings and venues
The art of tasting
Tasting Champagne is a very subjective act, but unlike what you might think, mastering this technique does not belong exclusively to specialists and wine professionals. Everyone can learn, just practice...
Tasting has to be done in good conditions: think about the right temperature of the wines, but also of the room where the session takes place. Make sure you have the right glasses at your disposal: Champagne is best served in flutes because they influence both your perception and sensations.
When tasting, pay attention to all your senses: hearing, sight, smell, taste and touch. And familiarize yourself with the vocabulary, the words that best describe your feelings.
Each tasting, whether simple or detailed, needs calm, no haste and happens always according to one and the same very logical process.
